Do you know your LinkedIn SSI score?
If you are a business owner selling your services to other businesses, then you need to be on LinkedIn.
Not just have connections and have a profile, you need to treat LinkedIn as if it is part of your Networking Group. Because guess what…it is!
LinkedIn has a tool that determines how well you are using LinkedIn, it is your LinkedIn Social Selling Score. It is determined by how well you score in 4 areas. The score is on a scale of 1-100. The higher the score, the better you are doing on LinkedIn.

I did my score and I was very surprised with my score. I got an 80 out of 100. I know I do well in some areas and need improvement in other areas. So that didn’t surprise me.
What surprised me is the percentile I was placed in. It was in the 1%. That means my score is in the top tier of all of LinkedIn. That really surprised me.
Now I am not saying this to brag and I am not going to retire based on this score. (Although I may throw a party but that is another topic for another day!)
I KNOW that I have only scratched the surface when it comes to the scope of LinkedIn and all it can offer a B2B business owner. So I was surprised that I was in the top percent. I have heard others say that LinkedIn is untapped market for B2B and I 100% agree.
And I am going to take full advantage of this and you should too. Let me give you some quick tips when you do go all in…
1) Do not be a used car salesman. When you connect with someone, do not instantly sell!
2) Build relationships first
3) Find business partners
4) Treat LinkedIn like a networking group you belong to. Ask for 1-1 Zoom calls and see if there are mutual ways for both of you to help each other in their business.
5) Make sure you track your data. This way you know what works and doesn’t work.
Just a little more detail on the last tip. Track your data. Try to figure out the following:
A) how many connection requests you gave out in each industry or job title
B) How many connected
C) how many accepted a 1-1
D) How many became referral partners
E) How many landed actual business
By knowing all of the above stats, you will be able to really dive into the gold gems that are waiting for you in LinkedIn
