Look at the 2 images combined above. One has 5 cards. (A hearts, 2 hearts, 4 spades, 5 hearts, 6 hearts)
Do you see a pattern and what is not like the others?
All are hearts except the 4 and if you go sequential the 3 is missing.
Now look at the 2nd image, the same cards are placed on top of the rest of the deck. Can you see the same pattern?
These cards are your data. Take your KPIs and separate them from the rest of the data. Once you do that, you can easily try to find patterns and trends in your data.
With so much data at our fingertips, it can be so overwhelming. And when you look at it all, you can’t see any patterns to formulate anything! The key is to step back and figure out which data points are the most important to your business. Put those in a separate tracking area (spreadsheets are the easiest to store them at the start) and track those. Looking at just those without all the noise and distraction of the other pieces of data is like going into a quiet room in a noisy house. its amazing the clarity that is seen.
Having a custom made dashboard will do the trick. This is the best way to see the overall picture of your data.
Do you have a dashboard with just your KPIs?
If not, let’s talk.
